About Me:

Hajime Yoshida, originally from Chiba, Japan. He started playing the guitar at the age of 15. Even though his interest was playing rock at first, he went into playing improvised music and jazz as well. He spent 6 years of studying jazz guitar/composition at The University of North Texas. He received a scholarship in the jazz studies while he was attending the college.

Hajime also studied with Antonio Hart, David Berkman, Jeb Patton, Johannes Weidenmuller, and Paul Bollenback at Aaron Copland School of Music while he is obtaining a master's degree in music performance.
He moved to Brooklyn NY in 2009, and has been a very active musician in New York untill now, frequently holds shows in New York venues.

Not only Hajime is a fine guitar player and improviser, his compositions are beautifully done, and interest audiences. His compositions atract people by contrast between very simple, memorable melodies and complex harmonic and rhythmic ideas.
Hajime's showcase of compositions, "Unlimitation"will be released in December 2011 featuring Sylvester Onyejiaka on tenor sax, Yuka Tadano on bass, and Keita Ogawa on drums.
